Craig Gilbert passed along this source for 55 gallon used Dr. Pepper syrup drums which are more or less ideal for collecting rain water:

Mark Bernath is the owner. The price is $15. They also have 30 gallon drums and 15 gallon drums that come with handles.

They are located off Bankhead Highway (78) just East of Mableton. Turn onto Oakdale off Bankhead Highway (opposite side is Discovery) and go for about a mile to Dickerson where you take a right. After a while you'll see a bunch of wooden palletes on your left and after that there is a gray block building which is ADS.

As an aside, the company Real Goods sells essentially the same barrels (cleaned up and with a few fittings) for about $100 each. Let's not tell Mark Bernath. (JM)

Jay Braver says you can also get the same barrels at the J&J Flea Market just North of Athens on 441 for only $6 each (or 4 for $20) in building #2 at the butcher's shop.
